You may remember Martha (mom) from my previous shoot with the girls at Debordeiu. She also lives in Charleston and has been friends with our family since she was born in Greensboro, NC! Martha and Robbie have two precious little ones Carolyn (1 1/2 yrs) and Worth (5 months). We had a great time together walking around Hampton Park. Martha had been asking me about pictures for the longest time and I was so excited when we made it happen. Martha, the gorgeous mom, she is along with her sweet husband make the perfect parents. Thank you Martha and Robbie!

Super job Jennings! Great looking family.
And a very Happy Monday to you all! My session with the Hughes on Sullivans Island was last weekend and it was a windy one! Dennis and her family are from Spartanburg, SC where my parents grew up going to high school with Dennis’s family as well. I can remember meeting Dennis a long time ago probably first at one of our parents high school reunion!
Dennis and Brian have a 3 1/2 year old, Chapman (Dennis’s maiden name). He is such a handsome little fellow. He loves jumping waves and drawing train tracks and train stations in the sand. We had a great short visit! Chapman’s cousins also were along for some of the pictures too, two precious little girls. Cousins are the best things in the world!
Thank you Dennis and Brian for surprising me with such a fun photo shoot request of your family! :)

I know Dennis’ family! Cool pictures, and nice to make a home town connection.
Chapman is so adorable! Fun pictures!
Loving all these blue eyes! Gorgeous family. I love the lighting!
More beautiful pictures!
On this warm morning of Cinco de Mayo at Magnolia Gardens, I met with the Stanfields. Little Miss Emery is now 9 months old and the last time I saw her, she was a wee bit smaller! Her smile lights up anything! Emory’s precious outfit was handmade by her mother! Looking forward to Emery’s one year old birthday party in July! Thank you Alison and Allen, for being repeat clients of mine, it makes me happy that I get to see your family grow in all stages of life! Enjoy!

Awesome pictures!!!!!
I love Emery’s eyes and all her animated expressions, especially the “touth y” grins!
LOVE them…my little Emery is precious, but I am a tad partial!
Very precious family! Good job mom on the outfit!!! Love that!
Great job in capturing a very attractive family – love the tree and peacock too!
Today I wanted to blog about something other than my photography. I want you to meet Andy Hopper (video), my brother in law. He is a super talented Chef and co-Owner of Chefs 105 in Morehead City, NC, along with Kevin Brighton. Recently he has been competing in the Fire on the Dock series of “Iron Chef” competitions with other coastal chefs. Click here for his previous results - the secret ingredient was strawberries & asparagus. Next Tuesday, May 1st, he is in the Quarter Finals against Antoine Murray of Cape Fear Country Club. Andy’s team, Creighton McNeil, Jason Foster, and Theresa Livingston help him prepare the 300 plates to send out to the guests. They all are highly talented chefs as well!
Andy and my little sister, Bennette, started dating in high school (yes high school sweethearts) in 1997. They were married in 2006. They first started their lives together in Chicago, IL where Andy was a Sous Chef at Spiaggia, winner of James Beard best Chef Award Midwest. Andy has so many talents, sports (soccer, golf), art (drawing), writer, and culinary! He is one of the most laid back people I have met, so smart and such an inspiration when listening to him talk about food and his art. All of his talents, I think, help him be successful in his passion of creating masterpieces of food. And when I say passion I mean it. The restaurant business is not for the weak. There are long hours, not to mention opposite hours of your spouse.
On Wednesday Beaufort kicked off The Beaufort Wine and Food Weekend. Tonight Chefs 105 is hosting a very special Wine and Food dinner. Then Andy will be competing in on Friday April 27th at the Grand Gala. He has won the Best Chef competition in the years 2008, and 2009, and 2010.
Andy I am so proud of you for all of your accomplishments and talent at the still young age of 31!!! Andy we all wish you the best of luck tomorrow at Beaufort Wine and Food and on May 1st at Fire on the Dock…what will the secret ingredient be?!?! Stay tuned!

Love my husband and so proud! Thank you Jennings!!!
BAM! Great blog!
TGIF everyone! The other day I was getting ready to water my potted plants and saw this caterpillar! I ran inside to grab my camera and shot away. Nothing like capturing small things BIG! You will also see the start of the blooming of my Meyer Lemon tree. Enjoy some nature this morning!
I shot all of these with my Nikon D700, 105mm macro around a 3-3.5. I processed very little, mainly a tad bit vibrance and boosted contrast. It is so fun for me to just sit on the deck and click away at something so close up. My husband would call me a big dork for doing this. I think he is sorta use to it by now though. I have no pets or children, so nature makes great subjects haha.
