Sara and Joe | Thomas Bennett House Wedding | Charleston, SC

I had booked Sara and Joe for a wedding, without meeting them. Back in February my husband, Brennen, son, Miller and I were at South Eastern Wildlife Expo (SEWE) when this cute girl approached me and said, ”Jennings?” It was Sara!!! I was so glad I was able to meet her even if it was a very brief moment before her wedding day in October.
Sara lives in Chicago for her residency as a nurse anesthetist and Joe lives here in Charleston. Both are from Ohio, and you will see some reception pictures of “O-H-I-O!” The day couldn’t have been more beautiful, a little warm, as Joe would tell you for October, but the skies were blue and the fun was about to happen.

Sara and Joe have two very different personalities, Sara, is more of a perfectionist (I am with you!) and Joe is a laid back, easy-going guy. They are absolutely adorable together. I just loved seeing them react during their first look behind the Thomas Bennett House. Their smiles were from ear to ear and did not stop even into the night.

Katie, with The Burlap Elephant, did a spectacular job creating the Southern Wedding! In the tented reception were long tables with touches of pink and grey for the napkins & table cloths. Each table had the most gorgeous flowers from Sara Grimshaw Designs, and each arrangement was in teacups or vintage vases. The pastel palette suited this bride and groom perfectly. Sara had her great-grandmother’s locket around her bouquet as she carried it down the aisle. Also as a sentimental touch part of the grandmother’s bridal dress was used to embroider in blue the bride and groom’s name and wedding for the “something blue.” The dancing was SO fun to watch from all the male guests (Ya’ll were great)! I felt like I was at So You Think You Can Dance! A tradition the bride, groom and guests performed was to drink a cup of beer from a push up position! This was absolutely hilarious and so much fun to watch! Talk about getting a party started right!

Sara and Joe - Thank you both so much for having me as your photographer! A big thanks to Katie for introducing us!

Lastly, a special thank you to my second shooter, Laura Stribling.
