Monday, the new volume of Smitten Magazine was released! The “Iron Maiden” theme is such an edgy and different look for the Bride to be. Fabulous if you ask me. When I saw an image of mine in the spread on Calligraphers I just about died! Calligraphy, oh Calligraphy! I remember taking a class in Calligraphy when I was in 5th grade. Why? Well my mom did and still does “some” amateur calligraphy. I remember looking at her slanted pens and thinking, these are pretty cool and different! When I tried to color in my coloring books with her pens, though, oops, trouble! Calligraphy has always been such a beautiful art to me from when I was little.
So that brings me to the feature today…Elizabeth Porcher Jones and I first met when she did the wedding invitations of a very close friend of mine. I loved her work, her art, and her kind spirit. I knew when I planned my wedding that she WOULD be doing my wedding invitations, and that she did. We have remained friends since then and she SO kindly created my “Jennings King Photography” logo! And here I am today, so proud to know Elizabeth Porcher Jones, and to see her featured in Smitten! Thank you Mary Simms for having me as your photographer! The “Just Married!” sign is below on the lower left. Every time I see Elizabeth as the Calligrapher, in a wedding I am shooting, I get so excited! Thank you Elizabeth for your friendship!
