During the Christmas break I discovered a “diamond in the rough” restaurant! It is literally across the street from our neighborhood and I just had to share…(Have you ever wondered what the small building is outside of James Island High School? Read on!)
I am not a restaurant blogger, or critic, but I love food, I love taking pictures of food, and I LOVE Mediterranean food! So here is the spot, Lemon Grove Grill. It is amazing and authentic and very tasty. The first time I ordered, I had a pick up order…I returned home and was so excited about the food, I called back to tell them how wonderful my meal was!!! I will tell you my favorites: the Grilled Whole Artichoke, Beet Salad, Portabella Mushroom, pita bread, bulgar with lentils, and best of all the Beyti!!! I can’t wait to try the lamb burger next, as they grind all their meat in house. Ali was so nice and sharing with everything they do and where things come from. He is constantly working on the menu, so it isn’t set in stone, but it gives you an idea of the variety and the outstanding prices. I wanted to share this fabulous and local restaurant to you all and hope one day you will go in and try it. I can’t wait for the warmer months when you can have a glass of wine on the patio. The staff is wonderful and so friendly, I was about to start cooking myself when I got back in the kitchen.

Lemon Grove Grill: “Owned and operated by a local James Island resident, we are a Mediterranean restaurant, with a healthy menu. We select only from the freshest local produce. We get all our seafood locally from Crosby, and our vegetables from a local fresh market called Limehouse. Our Lamb and New York Strip come from an organic farm located in North Carolina. Our homemade dips consist of sundried tomato basil olive oil, hummus, char-grilled eggplant, and spicy tomato. We have a wide variety of wine and beer. Lemon Grove Grill is a great place for a great family dinner or first date!”
