The Roland Family – Badin Lake, NC – Uwharrie Point

The moment I walked in the door of the Roland house at Uwharrie Point, I was hugged by each child & adult.  Immediately I felt welcome.  You will see some familiar faces in this 18 person shoot, The Shearins and The Edmunds.  I was very excited when Debbie asked me to be a part of their annual family photo shoot!  They all were so hospitable, serving me dinner Friday night, breakfast Saturday morning, and lunch!!!  The children all range from 7 years to 15 months.

All week-long the weather had been very weird and  it just so happened to continue that way.  It was pouring down rain!!!!  At about 10am the rain stopped and we had about a 45 minute window of no rain, no sun, and the attitude “let’s get this thing done and fast!!!”  It was the Saturday UNC was playing GT and Clemson was playing FSU.

The family was all together celebrating their dad and grandfather’s retirement!  Go Pop Pop!! I have known the Rolands since I was about 3 years old when our family moved to Buckingham Road in Greensboro, NC.  And from then on, I have felt like a part of their family…thank you Debbie and Larry and all the chil-runs!  What a beautiful & fun family you are!  Love you all!  (and a very special thanks to Mary & Bill, for loaning your house to me!)  🙂
