After a record breaking rainfall hit South Carolina during the first week of October 2015 it was nicknamed the “1,000-year flood” for very obvious reasons.  Neighborhoods and businesses were flooded and the peninsula was closed and blocked off due to the massive rainfall.  (Don’t even ask how I got through!)  Charleston was stuck right in the middle of the horrific mess but that wasn’t going to stop Brighid and Michael from becoming husband and wife!  During a natural disaster like this it takes an army, and this army was led by the fabulous, determined, and wonderful planner, Megan with Mingle.  She truly was the rock to the wedding proceeding on as it was always planned.

Michael and Brighid live in Charlotte, NC. After the engagement Brighid was on Pinterest one night when she ran across a bridal photograph which I had taken.  She knew right then we were the perfect match!  I was overjoyed to hear from her!

The weekend of Saturday, October 3rd was crazy to say the least and a very busy wedding weekend in the lowcountry. Brighid and Michael were such a lovely couple and I was determined to capture their wedding day flawlessly, rain or shine!

The trolley ride to the Cathedral of St. John was a wet one but nothing but smiles and laughter came from the bride and her bridesmaids.  Brighid’s silk sheath wedding dress was breathtaking with a beaded and jeweled  illusion off-the-shoulder neckline and cap sleeves. The bridesmaids wore sleeveless forest green gowns with a slight open back. Brighid walked down the aisle with a beautiful bouquet of white and cream roses, hydrangeas and lush greenery.

The William Aiken House in Downtown Charleston is a very sought-after wedding venue and rightfully so!  The beauty is exquisite.  Dinner was held inside the 18th-century mansion with tables set beautifully: silver urns containing soft colored roses and greenery, classic china and forest green napkins, and gold mercury votives.

The courtyard had rain-protecting tents which was perfect because without them there wouldn’t have been the fabulous dance party where Michael showed us his awesome moves!  The night was so much fun with friends and family celebrating the new Mr. and Mrs. Huber.  Michael’s fraternity brothers got down on one knee and serenaded Brighid by singing “The Rose.”  What an unforgettable moment!

I want to give a big thank you Brighid and Michael for making my job so easy! I wish you all the happiness in the world!
